Family Haircut at Home
A trip to the hairdressers should be a calming and satisfying experience. Offering
a tranquil place to be pampered and emerge feeling beautiful, and looking your best.
Now this experience can be tainted if the visit involves children even if they are
yours or not. The effect of children on your pampering session can leave you more
stressed than relaxed, a home visits from your hairdresser is the solution.
Now after
working in a salon I have seen and experienced women that were unable to attend the
hairdressers alone due to childcare commitments, no one to have them, weekends, work
commitments for all manner of reasons. Children can have an effect on a visit to
the hairdressers and not only for the carer but also other visitors to the salon,
and salon staff. During my time as a junior I had to keep lots of children occupied
for several hours whilst parents had hair cuts, and also had to bribe them to sit
still whilst having their own hair cut.
How much easier would it be to have your hairdresser
attend your own home? The children can play in their own space and with their friends
and their own toys? You can sit in the comfort of your own home, without other peoples’
children running around becoming rowdy. they are still within your eye shot and will
probably respond more to you in your own territory.
A home visit can combat the pressures
felt by parents attending the salon, children are able to be occupied in their own
space with their own things, no fear of them hurting themselves in a strange salon.
They are able to play in their own space and safely in earshot of parents. It can
be easier to call in the assistance of neighbours and older children, visiting relatives.
Enabling the client to relax and enjoy the experience of being pampered.
A home visit
can also enable the whole family to have their hairs done in one go, sometimes the
whole family may not be able to get a block booking that suits all involved but we
do our best to accommodate. A home visit can enable the client to complete the haircut
and then go about their own business. Children can be more settled and with more
of their own belongings around them and in their own environment, and this can take
away a lot of the nervousness they may feel in an alien environment.
Home visits will
also cut out the possibility of leaving the salon and being caught up in unfavourable
weather. There is nothing worse than spending several hours in a salon and then running
the gauntlet to the car only to find you look like a drowned rat, or like you never
attended the hairdressers at all. This will just leaving you feeling like the visit
was a waste and even when these visits are a bad result you still have to pay for
the effect, which is never cheap, especially when you walk out the door and it is
ruined.
All round the home visit can make the encounter less stressful, no rushing
around to get to your appointment on time. If you have no children then you will
not encounter other peoples’ children in your home, unless you so choose. Whilst
at home you can try on any clothes that you may want to wear for that special occasion,
I recently trialed a brides hair and she was able to try on her special dress after
I had finished her hair to really see what the final look would be. I don’t suppose
you see many brides in salons trying on their dress?
Try a home visit you may be surprised at the contrast and how different you may feel
following it.
